The Jockey Club School of Public Health and Primary Care

The Jockey Club School of Public Health and Primary Care (JCSPHPC) was created from the School of Public Health and Department of Community and Family Medicine on 1 August 2009 as one of the four schools within the CUHK Faculty of Medicine. The JCSPHPC was the first, and remains the only, institution in Hong Kong that provides an institutional platform for the integration of public health and primary care teaching and research. It caters to students interested in the promotion of population health and provision of individual preventive and community-based care. A wide range of programmes enables our students to study many aspects of public health, including environmental health, emerging infections, the epidemic of lifestyle-related diseases and the provision of health care to an increasingly elderly population.

The JCSPHPC is committed to advancing the development of public health and primary care, and our mission is to improve the health of the population locally, nationally and internationally through excellence in research, teaching, consultancy, and training and working in collaboration with partners from all relevant disciplines, institutions and communities.
