Guidelines for Nominations

Please read the information below before nomination.

 

1. Who is eligible as a nominee?

The nominee must be a MBChB alumnus or a MBChB alumna of the Faculty of Medicine, The Chinese University of Hong Kong. Each nominee must be proposed by a nominator and seconded by two supporters. Nominee cannot be a member of the Selection Panel or Deanery of the CUHK Faculty of Medicine.

 

2. Who is eligible to be a nominator?

A nominator for the Award must be either a MBChB alumnus or a MBChB alumna of the CUHK Faculty of Medicine or a current full-time teaching staff of CUHK Faculty of Medicine. Each nominator can propose ONE nominee ONLY and can be the supporter of another nominee whom he/she is not nominating. The nominator can neither be the nominee himself/herself nor be a member of the Selection Panel.

 

3. Who is eligible to be a supporter?

The supporter must be a MBChB alumnus or a MBChB alumna of the CUHK Faculty of Medicine, or a current full-time teaching staff of the CUHK Faculty of Medicine. The supporter cannot be a member of the Selection Panel or Deanery of the CUHK Faculty of Medicine and the supporting information should be kept strictly confidential. Each supporter can second more than one nominee.

 

4. What are the important notes for the nominator while filling in the nomination form?

The nomination form must be completed in either Chinese or English. Please limit the submission of extra documents to no more than 10 pages. Before submitting the nomination form, the nomination must be seconded by two supporters. All nominations must be kept strictly confidential, including from nominees, during the nomination process.

 

5. When must the nomination form for the Distinguished Medical Alumni Award be submitted?
  • All nomination forms must be submitted on or before 10 May 2024.
  • The Faculty will acknowledge the receipt of nomination forms by email to nominator on or before 17 May 2024.

All nominations must be kept strictly confidential, including from nominees, and during the nomination process. Under normal circumstances, only selected candidates will be notified by the Faculty of Medicine after the selection and approval by the Selection Panel. The Faculty will make an official announcement on the list of Award recipients after obtaining their consent.
