Abstract

HPV vaccination is the best prevention against cervical cancer because it protects against the root cause of the disease. As HPV vaccination uptake remains low in Hong Kong , CUHK researchers have tested various strategies to increase vaccination rates and find out that a school-based vaccination model accompanied by information targetted at parents and girls could achieve an uptake rate of over 80%. They also identified the main facilitators and barriers to HPV vaccination in Hong Kong.

Findings were published in the international scientific journal PLOS ONE.
