First multicentre population-based study in Asia on Mucosal Healing in Ulcerative Colitis

cover

Although mucosal healing is associated with improved long-term clinical outcomes in patients with ulcerative colitis, this first multicentre population-based study in Asia of “Endoscopic and Histological Mucosal Healing in Ulcerative Colitis in the First Year of Diagnosis: Results from a Population-based Inception Cohort from Six Countries in Asia” finds that mucosal healing was achieved in fewer than half of patients in the first year of diagnosis (J Crohns Colitis. 2017 Jul 26. doi: 10.1093/ecco-jcc/jjx103. [Epub ahead of print]).

Anyone interested in future collaboration in this field of research is welcome to contact our key investigator Prof Siew Ng of our Department of Medicine and Therapeutics. Prof Ng’s research interests focus on epidemiological, genetics and microbiota studies in inflammatory bowel diseases.
