Primary care is an imperative sector of any health system and it plays a major role during a pandemic. In this article, the overall strategies to control the spread of coronavirus and the challenges faced by Hong Kong, Singapore and Beijing have been discussed. It concluded that an effective control of the pandemic relied on the concerted effort of the government, the community, and all sectors. By enhancing the communication between primary care clinicians and health authorities, infectious disease outbreaks could be managed in a better way. (Ann Fam Med.
